So I was lucky enough to be invited back to the HotChillee experience for this yearÂ’s Double Century cycle race that sweeps through the beautiful regions in and around Swellendam, Western Cape. This, for many riders, is one of the highlights on the cycling calendar. It marks the closing of the racing season, the beginning of a training season for the pros, and generally an immense amount of fun and camaraderie...but this is all made possible by the HotChillee.

HotChillee Ride Captains enjoyed a fun evening with Zwift hosted by CycleFit. We were given a demo of the Zwift product, a new virtual indoor training software. The Ride Captains in groups of 3 then raced each other over a 5km course. With Matt Stephens commentating it was an entertaining evening.

I have never experienced anything like it and while I jumped into a ditch at one stage the kit stood up to everything that was asked if it. How I did not puncture is unbelievable but clearly down to the tyres. Continental GrandPrix GT 25 running about 80-85 psi. You would not believe a tyre could take that much punishment and protect the wheels, bike and rider. Conti rubber - truly awesome.

We have two HotChillee teams riding the Coronation Double Century. The teams consist of a mix of pros, development riders and locals. The objective is for our top development riders to gain from the experience of the pros both on and off the bike, whilst also being competitive enough to aim for a podium finish. Last year one of our teams came third overall.
